Directional tires and hydroplaning
By design directional tires on a drive axle displace water, snow and loose material to the center of the tread. The first video clip shows the water forming a tail of water on the back of the tire. The narrower the tail the more directional the tire. The second clip shows the tires going in the reverse direction where the water is more spread out and diverted away from the tread.
